According to the US Census Bureau, Florida ranks an embarrassing 50th place in the country in spending on education (per $1000 of income). Why Because our elected officials in Tallahassee have failed to provide adequate funding for our schools. Florida\'s schools have a huge impact on our real estate property values, our crime rates, our community pride and, of course, the future of our children. It is time to make education a priority. Is there a crisis in Florida\'s schools You bet there is. We are losing great teachers...enrichment programs like art and music are dwindling...teachers are almost begging for basic supplies like paper....special programs are losing much-needed classroom aides...and the lights are being turned off before the last children leave the building to save energy costs.
