| 6502 | Michael Conti | Pennsylvania | What an utter disgrace that such a memorial could even be proposed. These Islamic terrorists who took down Flight 93 are nothing short of evil murderers and this proposed memorial is nothing short of an utter travesty and a disgusting display of a grotesque political correctness.
The designers and proponents of this memorial need some serious mental help!
God bless America and God bless the souls of the passengers and crew of United Flight 93. |
Greg Hood | MI | You must be kidding. How could anyone defend this design? How could anyone ignore the theme forces the design. Drop the theme and start over. If these decision makers worked for me, they'd be on the street.

Christopher | Washington | I don't know how anybody could think this crescent memorial is a good idea. It needs to be stopped.
Robert Hinton | Michigan |
Alice Takacs | Pennsylvania | The crescent design should be scrapped . How it got this far is beyond me. How dare they dishonor the memory of the heros of Flight 93.
Linda Lovenstein | United States |
Juan Rosario | Connecticut | No to the Crescent! No to the Terrorists! No to the betrayal of our heroes!!!

Richard Pennington | Maryland | It is a shame that something like this could be considered. It just increase other Muslim extremists to do further acts.
Heather Hoffman | Ky |
Cathy McNamara | Pennsylvania | Do not use the cresent shape and we should only be honoring the 40 Americans who gave it all. Not the 4 terrorist.
Kathy Sudduth | Kansas | How sick! Who would design such a horrible, disrespectful, piece of pooh?
Chrisy | US |
Marie E. Ebersole | Maryland | We need to stop this travesty. I have been to the current Flight 93 Memorial, to me in its simplicity it better represents the spirit of what happened that day and the feelings of the people that were torn by this horror. Don't let the memory of the heroes of Flight 93 be soiled by going forward with the crescent design. We need to honor them that died protecting our lives from further harm that day.
Samantha J. Agnew | South Carolina | I am not anti Muslim but I think that this is an absolute travesty to not only the families of the heros but to all Americans. Where is the ACLU crying out "separation of church and state". They want to remove the 10 commandments from a courthouse yet a tribute to Mecca is appropriate for a National Monument??

John Phares | Texas | Better no monument than this one.
| 6532 | Anonymous | Maryland | I agree with Tom Burnett Sr. and others in regards to opposition of the design of the Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset County. I find it just astonishing and repulsive that out of the 1,100 designs submitted for the memorial, a crescent shaped design pointing in the direction Mecca is selected.
This is a disgrace to the brave crewmembers and passengers who fought the terrorists aboard Flight 93. Even if the shape and symbolism of this memorial were purely coincidental this design would be akin to a holocaust memorial in the shape of a swastika. I know in these strange politically correct times we live in it is not popular to say anything negative about Islam, but the design of this memorial is similar to a symbol that represents and ideology hate, intolerance and terrorism, past, present and future.
If this memorial comes to fruition they might as well inscribe in it the last words of the Muslim terrorist hijackers aboard flight 93, “Allah Akbar”. |
D Bean | VT | We shouldn't be building a memorial to those killed by Islamics using an all too obvious Islamic symbol.
Anonymous | NC | Who in their right mind builds a victory monument for those who committed the crime?
john e morrissey | usa | dump this insult to the usa.
Jeanette Gadt | CA | The design must be scrapped and the process must begin again. Shame on this designer, this committee, and their supporters.
Anonymous | | Islam is a violent religion. There might be nice muslims but the religion itself is violent.
Teresa | North Carolina |
Michael Conroy | CA USA | Honoring the terrorists? Who is responsible? Why in the world would this "memorial" have anything remotely Muslim in it's design? I am sick of PC thought and gestures. Do it right or do nothing, that would be better than what you've got.
Nicholas C. Armstrong | Texas | This could not be more offensive if it were designed to be so.
Jeremy O'Dell | |
L. Stouch | Ohio | This travesty must be Investigated!
charles ward | nc |
Cheryl Rankin | Montana | Whether intentional or not, this design definitely pays homage to Islam.
Johnny C. Rankin, Sr. | Montana, USA | This design is not only a travesty but also an affront to the victims of Flight 93 and to their families. The Dept. of Interior can cite all the excuses they want to defend their choice of design but due to the very fact that it has aroused such strong opposition they should reconsider their obvious stance of 'If you don't like it, tough. We're doing it anyway.'
Frances H. Haynes | TN, USA | It would seem that we are at a stage where we must fight daily to retain our American heritage. This is a Christian nation!
Jerry Gould | | There is can be little question that this design is a deliberate insult and an attempt to desecrate the memory of the brave and the innocent. The symbolism of the crescent aside, the inclusion of glass blocks for the terrorists has to be a sign of suicidal political correctness, a token of moral blindness or an attempt to promote the goals for which those deluded, savagely insane Islamic fascists planned and carried out their despicable plot.
Anonymous | | TRASH THE CRESCENT, ADD THE CROSS AND THE STAR OF DAVID!!!!!!
c. schollaert | pennsylvania | i don't know how anyone can even entertain the idea of using this design for the memorial. how dispicable are you people. shame on you. where did this design come from? local terrorists?
joe caputo | pa | congress needs to wake up and start representing americans..
