Since 1990, a total of 76 men and women have met their untimely end at the Isle of Man as a direct result of the motorcycle racing events there, the Isle of Man TT and the Manx GP. Yet the "The promotion of the event is part of a wide-ranging strategy by the Department of Tourism and Leisure to raise the number of visitors to the Isle of Man TT." As a motorcycle racer or racing fan I protest the exploitation of such a horrendously dangerous event by anyone, but especially by greedy people out to make a profit. I urge everyone to boycott the event, its coverage, and all those who sponsor or help promote it.
