PREFACE: I would like to start by thanking all of those who have already written and started a stirring in regards to the opposition of changing the name of NCSA to include the University of North Carolina\'s \"U.\" This is a letter that I have written by compiling the expressed feelings of some alumni as well as my own thoughts and feelings. The aim of this is not necessarily to \"petition\" this decision but to widely and easily reach as many of the NCSA family as possible and make it easy for them to add their support to this effort. Please read the statement below and if you feel the same way or similar, please sign with your name, graduation year, and any comments you would like to add. This will be passed along to Chancellor Mauceri, the Board of Trustees, and Erskine Bowles. Also, please do not forget that almuni weekend is coming up and we could sure use all of your physical support of this effort as we return home April 25th and 26th. Otherwise, hope all is well with everyone. Please send this to anyone you know who might be with us on this one. The school has a huge alumni base and there is no reason for them not to be heard. ------ NCSA, North Carolina School of The arts, \"School of The Arts\" it is recognized internationally in all corners of this industry, and for all intensive purposes is our brand, the name we stand by and that represents us. Why, at a time when the school is racing to regain its posture and identity in the arts world, would it possibly think it a wise move to change the very name every one knows it by I am totally opposed to having \"university\" added, or rather imposed onto our very individual, and unique NCSA. I agree with the views of many of my peers that the board is not listening to the Alum. This is all about money and the chancellor\'s pride in being a university Chancellor and not just an \"Arts\" school chancellor. I have not seen that passion in this administration, or those administrations to immediately precede it for that matter, as there were three chancellors over my four years of enrollment at the school. I have only seen a passion for changing in order to build our current dictator
