We are an association of over 2000 residents from Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Downtown Brooklyn, and other parts of Brooklyn. We are committed to preventing the reopening and expansion of the Brooklyn House of Detention (BHOD). Despite the city's challenging financial situation, Mayor Bloomberg and Corrections Commissioner Horn want to spend over $500 million of taxpayer money to expand the BHOD at 275 Atlantic Avenue. We have a different progressive vision for the site. We believe the site should be used for affordable housing and for a public middle school. Help us help Brooklyn.
