Janney School and Tenley Library
We, the undersigned residents of the District of Columbia, oppose the public-private project ("PPP") for Janney School and the Tenley Library for the following reasons: 1. It will deprive our neighborhood\'s children of critical outdoor space. As Janney\'s school populaton grows, its exterior play facilities must also grow to meet DCPS\' current educational specifications. 2. The rebuilding of the Tenley Library will be delayed for at least two years beyond its scheduled reopening date of 2010. 3. The community will lose forever the beautiful, stand alone library that was designed for the space, and the library will lose the ability to expand its physical plant. For these reasons, we ask Mayor Fenty, the City Council and LCOR to abandon plans for the Janney-Tenley PPP.
