As more and more model companies are emerging, various subjects within the military vehicles theme gets treated. More variety is offered to the customer than what was available 10 or 20 years ago. However there is still some subjects that aren’t regularly approached as often as US, Russian or Israeli vehicles for example. French AFV’s makes for a theme that is underexploited. Heller contributed to the French AFV collection by adding various kits such as the Leclerc, the VAB, the VBCI or the AMX-30 for example. Some of those kits were released by others companies like Tamiya, Meng or Hobbyboss. However there is much more to be covered. Blast models and Azimut productions are two renowned companies for making French related AFV conversions, complete kits and accessories. Azimut produced two interesting resin kits that were never touched by big companies for mass production. Those two kits are the ERC-90 Sagaie and the AMX-10 RC. These kits, which are now out of production, are old, quite expensive, rare to find and only appear sporadically on auction sites. People end up paying much more than what they are worth. There is some other companies that produce the AMX-10 RCR in other scales, such as 1/48 and 1/72 but nobody except Azimut offered (a long time ago) this vehicle in 1/35 scale. There is a demand for such a kit. The AMX-10 RC and RCR, along with the more recent SEPAR version, saw deployment in a variety of locations, including the more recent malian and afghan conflicts which makes for a plethora of dioramas possibilities. It underwent recent upgrades which will extend it’s service life and therefore merits it’s place as an available 1/35 kit. Therefore, we ask you to take into consideration our suggestion and our desire for you to take action and develop a kit that would fulfill an existing gap into the French modern AFV’s plastic models category.
