The assalut on grass fields from the synthetic turf industry has reached a fever "pitch". With the Synthetic Turf Council's article full of mis-information in the Feb. edition of Sports Field Management, FIFA promoting the 2015 Women's World Cup on synthetic, and now the MLS website publishing an article on synthetic turf "being the future of US soccer" (even though only 4 MLS cities play on turf, and 2 of those are NFL stadiums), we MUST TAKE ACTION. We are calling for STMA to STOP the acceptance and distribution of information about synthetic turf and get back to focusing on cutting edge information about high traffic GRASS FIELDS. Because of the STMA and grass field acceptance of synthetic turf, less information about the possibilities of high traffic grass fields has been spread. Now that synthetic has established, their marketing is becoming more and more attacking and insulting of natural grass fields. Yet natural grass field managers around the world are creating fields that can take more and more events!! We NEED YOU to commit your support to calling on STMA to STOP supporting synthetic turf before the synthetic turf industry convinces the sports world to convert every field.
