In our Canadian Parliamentary Democracy the Governor General is the representative of Her Majesty the Queen and exercises virtually all of the Crown's powers. The Governor General is appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister. Governor General David Johnston overstepped his authority on Nov. 28 2011. He publicly and in his official capacity supported and endorsed the Alberta oil sands as a “Great Canadian Development”. Governor General David Johnston has committed Her Majesty the Queen in support of the oil sands by this act. David Johnston supported PM Harper in limiting the parameters of the Oliphant inquiry and allowing ex-PM Mulroney to escape consequence of his actions. Now David Johnston as Governor General, as the Queen's representative has attempted to manipulate and legitimize public opinion and our legislative process. Governor General David Johnston must be removed from his position by Her Majesty the Queen. Sign this petition, stand up for Canada and our Parliamentary Democracy.
