Criminal Charges for Captain the German Shepherd's Killer
The maximum penalty in Canada for animal abuse if one is charged and convicted is 5 years. Captain was a 2 year old German Shepherd who was found beaten and bleeding in a dumpster in Vancouver. He died of his injuries. The police have arrested his owner but he has not been charged criminally yet for Captain's murder. Petition the BC and Canadian government to press criminal charges against Brian Whitlock of Vancouver. Captain was beaten with a chain and suffered brain hemorrhages and other fatal injuries. He was a total love bug by all accounts. Nothing this too gentle to be a K9 did ever warranted his brutal torture and killing. German Shepherds were created and bred to protect. Captain deserved the best. Now that he is gone give him the dignity he was denied in life!
This happened in British Columbia and its the province with
the toughest animal cruelty laws in Canada. The laws were amended last
year after the Whistler slaughter of 100 huskies.... increasing fines
for animal cruelty convictions to a maximum of $75,000 and allowing jail
terms of up to two years.
