PLEASE SIGN and PASS this to family and friends to SIGN - Once this project becomes a reality the name of CUTHBERT GRANT shoudl be added to the MANITOBA WALK OF FAME

Considered the 1st Leader of the Manitoba Metis People, Cuthbert Grant was instrumental in the formation of early Manitoba History

Downtown Winnipeg BIZ wants to give the province’s brightest stars a place to shine on the streets of downtown Winnipeg.

The improvement zone’s 2014 budget passed Wednesday included $185,500 to build “a permanent place of tribute and recognition for Manitoba achievement”, but where exactly the Manitoba Walk of Fame will be, when exactly it will open, and who will be honoured are details BIZ executive director Stefano Grande is keeping close to his chest.

“There’s an incredible amount of people that have contributed to music, to art, and to culture in our city, and we are remiss that there’s nothing really to celebrate it in a very public way,” he said. “Toronto has their Walk of Fame and Hollywood has their Hollywood Stars… It’s time we celebrate too.”

I find it interesting that little amount of people know who Cuthbert Grant is yet his achievements not only in Metis but in Western Canadian history were crucial to how the area has formed up to present times. Should this walk of fame be realized, there should be no question that this man's name should be included.

Yes with out a doubt Cuthbert Grant needs to be included in your Walk of Fame. Consider what he accomplished in his organizing skills for both red and white peoples. consider the hundreds if not thousands of family that may not be here today without his application of his unselfish medical skills. Consdier his development of the mill, the plains cart, and the sharing of his medical skills. Yes, without a doubt Grant needs to be included..

Cuthbert Grant was one of the key people in Manitoba's early history, as well as the first leader of the Metis. He was well known as a very respected healer. He founded Grantown which is now known as Saint Francis Xavier.
