We the undersigned support the designation of a Stampede State Recreation Area outside Healy, Alaska under Alaskan Senate Bill 60 and House Bill 113. A State Recreation Area is important to ensure continued traditional uses of the area, and will enable citizens to participate in the planning process. These lands provide critical wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Friends of Stampede is a grassroots group that was formed in October 2010. The group’s purpose is “To protect the natural resources and recreational opportunities on public lands in the townships along the Stampede Trail corridor.”
