END HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES, SULKIES AND CARTS.
We, the undersigned call on the Carriage Office, Dublin (Licensing), Dublin City Council and the Department of Agriculture (Animal Welfare) to end the use of Horses and other Equines as load-bearing beasts of burden. ~Because horse drawn carriages constitute a danger to people in vehicles, on bicycles and on foot; and ~Because they impede the flow of traffic, particularly with respect to emergency vehicles; and ~Mainly because it is inhumane and unbecoming to any city to force these beautiful sentient animals to work in dangerous, unhealthy and unnatural conditions. We believe that other species are not ours to use. We, the Undersigned, hereby urge the Irish legislaters and Dublin City Council to immediately ban all horse drawn vehicles from our streets.
