HELP PROTECT SOUTH STREET MONUMENT TREES IN JP
Voice your support for the trees growing around the South St. monument in Jamaica Plain. This area is being redesigned and they plan to remove these trees so that an "unobstructed view" of the monument can be experienced from all angles. They want to attract people; however, in this scenario, a monument stands alone on a stark plain. They say they will be adding new trees off to the side where the street in front of the church now exists, but trees are living, growing things not pieces of furniture, and the more in this new park space the better for shade, the environment, beauty, recreation and remembrance. (You can read about the full design plan at link provided.) If you agree, please sign this petition I am presenting to the architects at the next and last planning meeting. NOTE IN THE COMMENTS SECTION IF YOU LIVE/WORK/VISIT JP (and feel free to say other things!)
