Both Central Park in Manhattan, and Prospect Park in Brooklyn have bird feeders for song birds.

Forest Park in Queens used to have them until recently when the Parks Department removed them.

For over 15 years bird feeders have been maintained in Forest Park with informal approval from NYC Parks Department staff. Informal approval is no longer enough, and the NYC Parks Department removed the feeders.

However, the NYC Parks Department have indicated their willingness to approve feeders provided they are placed and maintained according to their requirements, and that public interest is sufficient to warrant approval.
