Petition to Oppose Mark Lovelace's Appointment to the California Coastal Commission
To the Honorable Jerry Brown, We, citizens of the North Coast, wish to express our firm opposition to the appointment of Mark Lovelace as North Coast Regional Representative on the California Coastal Commission. Mark Lovelace fails to recognize the need for balance between economic growth and environmental preservation. His positions are extreme and he is a divisive force in our community. His appointment to the Coastal Commission would be both damaging to the economy of California and an embarrassment to you, our Governor. We, the citizens of the North Coast, feel that there are several candidates who are better qualified to serve as the region's representative, including Humboldt County Supervisor Virginia Bass, Fortuna City Councilman Ken Zanzi, and Ferndale Mayor Jeff Farley.
