We support the resolution being considered by the Minneapolis School Board to restrict military recruiters\' access to schools and provide equal access to peace groups and counter-recruitment activists. Among other things, the resolution states: \"Military recruiters be prohibited from interacting with students in hallways, lunch rooms, or common spaces other than high school College & Career Centers

After several years of campaigning by Youth Against War and Racism and other antiwar groups, including petition drives and teach-ins, walkouts and direct action, lobbying of school officials, and much more, passage of this resolution would represents the most substantial policy victory in the Twin Cities so far. While this resolution is far short of our call to end the Pentagon\'s presence in schools altogether, implementation of resolution would nonetheless be a major step forward for the local peace movement!
