SAVE THE PINK SILO
ON A WHIM ANTIQUES ON RT.15 IN LUCKETTS, VA., IS ASKING FOR YOUR HELP IN SAVING OUR POLK-A-DOT SILO. LOUDOUN COUNTY ZONING OFFICE IS STATING THAT THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE COLORS OF OUR SILO AND WE MUST PAINT IT. AFTER 5 YEARS OUR SILO HAS BECOME A LOUDOUN COUNTY LANDMARK. PEOPLE COME FROM ALL OVER JUST TO SEE THE BIG PINK POLK-A- DOT SILO. LOUDOUN COUNTY HOSPITAL EVEN HAS A PICTURE OF IT HANGING ON THE WALL THAT LEADS TO THE OPERATING ROOM. INTERESTINGLY, LOUDOUN COUNTY HAS NO LAW OR ORDINANCE THAT PROHIBITS THE COLOR OF A BUILDING. EVEN THOUGH THE ZONING OFFICE CLAIMS THAT IT IS A SIGN, IT IS A SILO. ON A WHIM HAS ALREADY BEEN FINED FOR A PINK COW, BEDS, AND EVEN PINK RIBBONS THAT REPRESENT ON A WHIM'S SUPPORT OF THE NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION. BECAUSE OF LOUDOUN COUNTY'S DEMAND THAT ALL THESE THINGS BE REMOVED, THERE IS NOT MUCH LEFT TO LET PEOPLE KNOW WHERE WE ARE OR WHAT WE STAND FOR. NOW THEY WANT OUR SILO. PLEASE HELP US SAVE OUR SILO.... TO SEE OUR SILO CLICK ON THE "ON A WHIM" LINK.
