I, a citizen of the United States, am in direct opposition to PPL and PSE&G Electric Utilities proposed Susquehanna-Roseland power line upgrade. Based on the information available, I believe this line will have direct, immediate and negative ecological, economic and environmental impacts. The effects of such high voltages( over 500,000 volts as currently planned) on human beings living near such power lines are undetermined at best, and catastrophic at worst. I do not believe there has been enough research into the overall ramifications of this project, and there is no current location in Pennsylvania or New Jersey I am aware of that has power lines of this size in such close proximity to homes and schools. With known cancer clusters already established along its path at the current 230-kilovolt level, I feel it is imprudent and reckless for regulatory agencies to consider granting approval to PPL and PSE&G's application to upgrade this power line. I implore you to fight this project and instead, encourage 'green' forms of energy to compensate for growth over time. I do not believe that the people under and near this 500 kilovolt proposed line should be the guinea pigs for the very real health and safety risks of this project. Thank you.
