Dear Mr. Walton,
We, the undersigned, were dismayed by your failure to retain the Aptos Twin Theater in the Rancho Del Mar redevelopment project. We were blindsided when a much loved and used community resource shut its doors without our knowledge or input.
Before any more decisions are made that negatively affect the town we love, we ask that you consult with us, the Aptos community, by holding public meetings. As an aid to your communication, we suggest that you post a meeting schedule to the nextdoor.com site (Aptos and Aptos+Nearby), where over 75 of us have posted messages on the closing of the Twin, and where many of us have also raised questions about the future of the shopping center.
Our input and involvement could help influence the future success of your enterprise and generate valuable good will. We hope to hear from you.

Watching our numbers climb reminds me how much this theater meant to all of us who grew up in these aisles. We are almost at two hundred and fifty signatures so please text this link to three neighbors right now to push us over the threshold.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that my neighbors care about the future of our town just as much as I do. We have finally reached a level of momentum that makes it impossible for the developers to ignore our request for a seat at the table.

It is terrible that we have lost our cinema which played sophisticated films. As a senior, I went weekly to the movies; the parking was easy and I could walk if I chose to. We loved our theater in Aptos!
The Aptos Twin Theater has been a MAIN source of entertainment for many years for those of us who live in the local area. The closing of our cinema, without any notification or communication is making a statement that your organization does not care about the wellbeing of the local community.
I was completely gutted by the cinema closure. We loved our local movie house and it was very well attended. I have emailed before and Terramar have ignored me. There will be ZERO support for this redevelopment if you don't include the community.

I understand developing for the "future" but let's not lose sight of the things that make a village community pleasing like maintaining it's small town character. The Aptos Twin was such a nice little place to go out to, see a movie, get dinner and meet friends from the neighborhood.
Yelp reviews of Safeway are abysmal, this center is likened to a slum and ghetto. The center is in dire need of a makeover that better represents the quaint yet desirable neighborhood.
Very Sad for our community to see the Aptos Theater shut down.

Why when the shopping center is one-quarter empty would you not renew the lease with the movie theater?? The movie theater brought others to the center for dinner etc. It seems like a very short-sighted decision unless it is part of an expansion that isn't being shared with the public.
