\"Where The Wild Things Are\" is the newest film from Academy Award nominated director Spike Jonze (Being John Malcovich, Adaptation). The film is based on Maurice Sendak\'s classic children\'s book, and was adapted for the screen by Spike Jonze and writer Dave Eggers (Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, You Shall Know Our Velocity!). Reports have recently emerged that Warner Bros. may be considering an entire re-shoot of the film, and perhaps without Jonze. Apparently, the version that Jonze turned in was a more mature, adult adaptation than Warner Bros. had originally anticipated, and they\'ve pushed the release date WAY back. (The films release was originally set for May 2008, and it\'s now set for October 2009.) This is EXTREMELY upsetting to fans all over the world. Jonze is a very unique and original artist, and people of all ages have been looking forward to this film for the better part of a decade. Maurice Sendak worked on the film as a consultant, and is apparently very pleased, and fully supports Jonze\'s vision. As of now, there have been no official statements from Warner Bros. or Jonze about the situation, but here\'s to hoping that if it\'s true, then we have something to say about it. Help keep artistic integrity alive. Let\'s save this film from the corporate money machine, and let one of the most original, inventive, and creative filmmakers out there have his vision protected.
