Scottish Natural Heritage have announced their intention to trap and remove the free-living European beavers of the Tay and its tributaries. We the undersigned strongly oppose this action for the following reasons:
* Animal welfare (removal of adults threatens juveniles with death by starvation or cold).
* Lost study opportunity (beavers coexist with farmers, fishermen and foresters etc.)
* Lost opportunity for habitat improvement by beavers.
