The government of Uganda is not taking climate change seriously. I say this because the government is so mindful about the assumed wealth from selling oil and gas. We should rather be investing those billions of money in renewable energy development.

Secondly, Uganda does not seem to truly believe in Climate Change. I myself have heard Hon Ephraim Kamuntu, Uganda's ministry of Water and environment speak. There is a general bias that International community does not want developing countries to enjoy their newly found resources of oil and coal.

Regardless of the above, Uganda is experiencing climate change itself in all fashions and from all corners of the country. Saying this, we the citizens will not allow the government to continue planning to drill oil without telling us what is going on.

Why then did Uganda sign the 2015 climate accord in Paris????????

Friends, at this moment we need unity for change. We don't want fossil fuels and oil and gas in the country.
