Whereas the Canadian justice system is solely intended to serve the public interest, and whereas correctional facilities operated for profit create an incentive to incarcerate which is independent of the public interest, and since it is reasonable to expect that a private company's desire for profits will supersede its desire for justice, thus putting it in direct conflict with the fundamental Constitutional principle of a fair and just society, your petitioners therefore humbly pray that: private (for profit) correctional facilities be declared unconstitutional.
