On Feb, 17 2011 Sony’s PlayStation Network Terms and Condition were changed to what some believe it to be unfair, unjust, unlawful, and most importantly unacceptable in many ways.

For those of you who have not been following the PlayStation3 scene for the past six plus months and are wondering why Sony has taken these drastic measures; This comes after a few security hackers around the world who were able to hack the PlayStaion3 which Sony claimed to be unhackable since the launch of the console in 2006. The hackers only did so as a result of drastic measures Sony took few months prior when they decided to take away the OtherOS option that the PlayStation3 had and was advertised to have. Myself and many others who did not agree to the new terms and conditions, as well as those who did agree and may or may not have a modified unit in anyway. One part of many of these terms is to agree to not use any (Hardware and/or Software) other than Sony’s licensed parts that includes but not limited to unauthorized peripherals not sold by a Sony company such as, Bluetooth headsets, Hard Drives, Keyboards and Mice, USB Drives, HDMI, Cables, USB Cables and many more in order to use their online service. You are in the right place.

This petition is for everyone who disagrees with Sony actions in order to (as Sony puts it) “Protection our (Sony’s) business and preserving the honest gameplay experiences that you expect and deserve.”  I for one am not happy how, as a customer, are being treated with the new terms and conditions of the use of my PlayStation3, which in turns is impending on my personal rights and privacy act. I do not like the fact that Sony is forcing me to agree to have my personal content on my console spied on by random Sony employees such as a personal and private pictures and videos, which can and should only be viewed by those I approve to. Also, I am not obligated to purchase expensive peripherals that has been build and approved only by Sony.

Therefore I will be sending this petition to Sony to show, we will not be quiet anymore, we will speak out and they will have to listen. After all we are their customers,  as we all know, “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”
