You can help to stop biodiversity loss!

My name is Gerben Jan Gerbrandy and I am a Dutch Member of the European Parliament. I'll be attending the biodiversity summit in Nagoya, Japan, at the end of October.

If you cherish the world's wide variety of animals and plants, I can give you a voice. How?

Sign the petition! The more support I get from you, the more pressure I can put on the Ministers of Environment, who are gathering in Nagoya to develop a new strategy on biodiversity.

Too little has been done so far to protect our biodiversity. You can help to make a difference now. If I collect enough signatures we can make a change in Nagoya together.

Other Members of the European Parliament that support this initiative are: Bart Staes, Bill Newton Dunn, Chris Davies, Catherine Bearder, Sirpa Pietikäinen, Isabella Lövin and Bas Eickhout.

This is a personal initiative, because in my opinion the loss of biodiversity goes beyond political disputes about money. I am not funded by any institution, organisation or political party to go to the Biodiversity summit. I finance this trip myself. I will go to Nagoya to hand over your signatures. Governments and environmental organisations alone cannot get the job done. This is the moment citizens need to take action. That's why I want to provide a platform for you, so you can let environment ministers from all over the world know that you care about the planet's future.
