To: Ghent Planning Board

cc: Ghent Town Board

A recent court ruling which forces the Ghent Planning Board to issue permits to Ginsberg's Foods~overturning your decision~is an injustice.

We hope the Planning Board will appeal the judge's incorrect ruling, to protect the integrity of the Ghent Zoning Code and sound planning decisions in our County.

We also urge the Ghent Town Board to support this appeal.

Furthermore, in light of the recent State investigation into conflicts of interest in the Ginsberg project, we call upon Columbia County officials to institute meaningful reforms to insure open and fair practices in public funding of local economic development projects.

Sincerely,

GhentCANN

The Ghent Planning Board needs to see a massive surge of anger before we hit that 250 signature mark. Post this link on your social media right now and tell the Town Board that we refuse to let Ginsberg's Foods walk all over our zoning laws.

It's in the county's best interests to continue to strive for transparency and good governance. Protecting the independence of local planning and zoning boards supports that goal.

I live in Ghent. I thought the Zoning Board's decision could not be overturned. I'm saddened. by the injustice of one person, even a judge, to ride roughshod over town ordinances. Im in favor of appealing the decision.

Construction of an oversized trucking facility in the middle of our beautiful rural county will lead to more commercial sprawl. The Ghent Planning Board made the right decision in the first place, and I urge the board to appeal the recent court ruling.

I was present at most of the hearings on this decision - I felt that the Ghent Planning Board bent over backwards to give Ginsberg a fair hearing. From past planning experience (about 45 years) and attendance at many hearings of this type I feel the Ghent planning board decision to deny the project was correct.

Judge Koweek's decision sets a bad precedent with respect to sound planning decisions and the use of public monies all through the Mid-Hudson Valley and thus should be appealed.

Ginsbergs should place its gigantic plant beside an interstate highway where its fleet of double tractor trailers can operate without endangering Ghent's residents.
