Plans are proceeding on the Croxley Rail Link, which will see two new tube stations open in West Watford. One at Vicarage Road, the other at Ascot Road. London Underground has the final say in the naming of stations and has indicated their preference is to name the station on Vicarage Road 'West Watford'. Watford's Elected Mayor, Dorothy Thornhill, is calling on the people of Watford to back her calls for the station to be named 'Vicarage Road'.

Dorothy says: "West Watford covers a much wider area, when Vicarage Road is an area within its own right and is most well-known locally, regionally and nationally as the home of Watford Football club. London Underground will be making their decision at a board meeting on 31st July - help me persuade them to get Vicarage Road put on the tube map!"
