City of Kingston: Petition Regarding Cycling Infrastructure in Williamsville
The revitalization of Upper Princess Street through Williamsville is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate that Kingston is a national leader in sustainable and active transportation. By providing infrastructure that is safe and encouraging to people who want to cycle, Williamsville could create a busy hub of activity; enhance flow of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians; promote business development; reduce greenhouse gases; and foster health and well-being in our City. Unfortunately, the current design for Williamsville falls short on this potential.
To genuinely facilitate active transportation is to provide a sustainable infrastructure.
Please sign this petition and support all City efforts to make the Williamsville infrastructure acceptable to active transportation users: complete with a segregated bicycle lane that will separate bicycle traffic from motor vehicles.
