WNTP 990 AM Philadelphia - Drop Penn State sports programming
In the wake of the Sandusky scandal and all of the fallout associated with it, Salem Radio Network’s Philadelphia market affiliate WNTP 990 AM should drop coverage of Penn State sports programming. A radio station that bills its programming as ‘intelligent, conservative talk radio’ has no business continuing to broadcast coverage of PSU football, or for that matter, anything related to PSU sports programs. This is especially important in this crucial election year. WNTP is a force for good in the Philadelphia region, broadcasting the Salem radio lineup of Bennett, Gallagher, Prager, Medved, and Hewitt during the week, with occasional reruns on weekends. In this crucial election year, listeners have come to depend on outlets like WNTP and others for the truth about politics and current events, without the liberal bias that’s so evident in the so-called mainstream media. In order to better serve its core audience, it’s past time to end the relationship with PSU that so often results in these excellent programs being pre-empted for vapid sports talk.
