The council finally caved and agreed to a full safety review of the Woodmere Avenue disaster. They realized they cannot keep ignoring the danger while people get hurt. We won this fight, but stay sharp to ensure they actually fix the road instead of just talking about it.

We, the undersigned, demand a complete urgent review of the accident blackspot on Woodmere Avenue and a public consultation on the available options to improve this width restriction, (where heavy vehicles have taken to avoiding the unrealistic width restrictions, instead using the bus lane); this review to be funded by the county councillor’s annual £90,000 Highways Locality Budget designed for such local purposes; we rate safety on the public highway above cosmetic improvements.

One hundred people have signed to demand that the council stops ignoring this dangerous mess on Woodmere Avenue. The local authorities have been hiding behind their excuses for long enough while vehicles barrel through the bus lane to dodge their broken width restriction.

I think these are incredibly dangerous as my grandparents live down there and always go and See them. I have seen people get stuck but can not get out of there car god forbid if anyone’s care caught fire they would die!!! There are just incredibly dangerous!!
Need to be removed and replaced with ANPR cameras that could automatically charge any HGV's that are not allowed to go through. How long before a pedestrian is hit by flying debris. In the current state they are pointless as there is no enforcement of the bus lane at all.
Ridiculously tight to get through- I damaged my new car as only 7cm clear space to navigate through with 3 bent pillars that are so low you can’t see them when driving through. I would rather pay the fine going through the middle than the repair bill every time.!
The worst instalment in Watford. Went through these one night. Smashed the passenger side arch 4 years ago. Cost me over a grand in costs. Don’t go through them anymore. You can’t visibly see the posts in a van. Far to tight. Should be removed completely.
I have a small car so luckily can just squeeze through however almost daily I drive over broken glass or sit behind another badly damaged car that's been unlucky enough to not fit. It causes the traffic to back up to the a41 causing other problems and accidents.

There is no room for error with the posts being level with the curb, so if catch the curb you will also damage your vehicle I live in Knutsford Avenue and have stopped using Woodmere and travel via Otterspool Way to cross into the Mereden.
