Zero Tolerance Policy on Steriods Use for Baseball
We are petitioning Major League Baseball (MLB) to adopt a zero tolerance policy on steroid use in the league. We would like to collect and deliver 1,000,000 signatures to the office of MLB commissioner Allen H. (Bud) Selig no later than June 15, 2009 (original date was March 15, 2008). We request MLB to adopt the suggested following policy by June 30, 2009 (original date was start of 2008 season): 1) For any minor or major league player caught using steroids the first time, an automatic 1-year suspension from MLB. 2) For any minor or major league player caught using steroids a second time, an automatic 2-year suspension from MLB. 3) For any minor or major league player caught using steroids a third time, an automatic 10-year suspension from MLB. If there is no policy resembling a zero tolerance approach from MLB by June 30, 2009, we will call for a boycott of all baseballs games taking place on July 4, 2009 as well the 2009 All-Star Game.
