There are strong rumours that if David Sullivan or Massimo Cellino buy West Ham United that they will immediately sack Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke and install their own man. We, the West Ham fans, believe this would be a retrograde step and urge any new owners to retain the services of both Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke and allow them to finish what they have started. Zola's teams play the type of entertaining football West Ham fans appreciate. So far, he has had to play, largely, with the squad he inherited from Alan Curbishley. We believe, that given the chance, Zola can build a team which will qualify for Europe within two season. We urge the new owners not to act hastily, and give Gianfranco Zola the chance to prove himself.
