The city of Edmonton Administration provided an information report to Committee on the current state of federal, provincial and municipal noise regulations. A 2010 review found no significant change or improvement to the regulation for aftermarket excessive noise alteration. the Edmonton Police Service supported the amendment coming forward at this time. We believe that this amendment is bias and discriminatory. We have conducted an independent sound test on several types of vehicles that do not adhere to the proposed decibel level readings for "motorcycles only", The City of Edmonton Council is voting on a bylaw that singles out motorcycles. We the undersigned believe that this type of process is unfair and discriminatory. It does not solve the issue with loud vehicles bothering the public. There needs to be further analysis done on the repercussions of this amendment and it should reflect the opinions of the entire "public Sector" and not just the City of Edmonton Council and The City of Edmonton Police Department.
