The class of 2010 has become North Carolina's guinea pig. The state has made mandatory a project that, in the eyes of students (and even some adults!), has no real value. Many students are very upset over having to do such projects, seeing them as an extra burden on an already heavy courseload.
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution gives us the right to petition, to express our ideas to the government. We can make ourselves heard, and hopefully change things around!
The momentum behind this push is real and shows the state that we refuse to be treated like test subjects. Take this energy to your local school board representative and demand they drop this requirement immediately.

Ridiculous. We are already stressed enough with finals and college apps. Who even came up with this garbage?
