The School Construction Authority finally blinked and agreed to scrap the demolition plans for our building. They tried to steamroll us with bad data and arrogance but we forced them to back down. Stay sharp because we are going to make sure they stick to this promise.

Please help us stop the imminent demolition of a beautiful, structurally sound 100 year old building (a Snyder school) that is one of the few distinguished structures along 4th Avenue corridor and eligible for inclusion on the State and National registers of historic places. The School Construction Authority plans to build the new structure on the footprint of the existing schoolyard and one of the very few remaining community gardens then tear down the turn-of-the-century Gothic-style building upon completion. Community comments were invited but not heeded, environmental issues were minimally addressed, projected traffic was significantly underestimated (with virtually no mitigation), architectural issues were raised and dismissed... Please support us in the efforts to change the course of this construction.

The School Construction Authority is ignoring us and preparing to pave over our history for their reckless project. We are knocking on the door of one hundred signatures so push this out to everyone you know right now. Do not let these bureaucrats think for a second that we are backing down.

The city ignores us every single time. Listen to the neighbors for once instead of just developers.

This building is beautiful and actually has character unlike all the new glass boxes going up. Leave it alone.

Ridiculous to destroy a piece of history for some cheap school construction project. We need that garden for the kids in the neighborhood.

4th ave is already a nightmare with traffic. adding more without fixing the road is just asking for a disaster.
