A development application has been received by Great Lakes Council seeking approval to undertake exploration drilling at 67 Maytoms Lane, Booral, NSW.

While the application is to undertake exploration drilling to investigate suitability for quarrying, our concern is the consequences of the quarrying operations if the testing determines the site is viable. Testing will be conducted up to a depth of 120m at five locations across the site, suggesting that the size of the operation will be massive.

A quarrying operation of this magnitude will impact on the wider community, not just the immediate adjoining landholders. If you feel strongly about this issue, please sign the petition to support our objection.

The development application is currently on display at Forster and Stroud Council Offices. Written objections are welcome, and can be sent to council@greatlakes.nsw.gov.au (please reference DA-122/2016).
