The ferry company has officially agreed to extend the late summer schedule through October to accommodate our seasonal residents and businesses. This result confirms that clear communication regarding our community needs produces tangible results. We look forward to a more accessible autumn season for all property owners.

Dear Sayville Ferry

The undersigned are requesting you revise the early fall schedule by keeping the late summer schedule in effect until mid or late October, for the following reasons.

Most rental houses leases run through early October.

Many more homes in Fire Island Pines have become all season residences.

Owners who rent their home prime season often use their homes in the shoulder season.

Commercial establishments are open for business until mid to late October.

The value of our property is impacted by the accessibility to The Pines.

We feel better accessibility to our property will positively impact both the value of our property and the use and enjoyment of the same, thereby improving the economy of the entire town.

due to the new schedule the inconvenience of only two ferries a day forced us to close our house in october rather than keeping it open till christmas. Leaving no time for repairs or access for others to come and do those in the off season.

This would also be beneficial to the business owners and contractors who make their living over there. After the ferries stop running we have to drive over and having a longer season is beneficial to us and our clients.

I would have went twice since late sept but the ferry sched made it not so worth it as I wanted to arrive around 7pm to stay two nights. leaving me w an early morning option and a one night stay all the travel is a lot for me for one night. so I didn't go.

The existing ferry schedule has robbed us of a weekend at the end of the season and has made it impossible to work all day Thursday and get to the Island. How about considering your customers above the almighty $!!!!

People work until 6pm and with traffic no one can get there for the last ferry , and if you do it is extremely crowed and it present a safety and liability issue on the ferry for everyone . Later boat should be available at least on Friday and sundays .

Please keep the late summer schedule through Halloween. The Barton Family who ran it profitably in the 1980's successfully altered/expanded the season and listened very well. ALL WERE HAPPY..... Please accomodate us Ken Stein~

Bring back the late ferry. For who ever lives over on fire island. And to have the owner's of businesses to have a income. Just like you....
