Traffic in our neighborhood, and particularly along certain streets, has reached dangerous levels. Frequent speeding, ignoring of stop signs and other traffic laws, has created, we believe, a hazardous set of conditions.
We, residents of key streets in the Historic College Park Neighborhood, ask, and encourage our City Council and Police Department to assess the possibility of implementing additional traffic calming measures along certain streets in our neighborhood - these might include: Speed Bumps, Traffic Calming Chicanes, or other measures, as appropriate.
Streets include, but not limited to: Lyle Ave , Rugby Ave, Walker Ave, John Calvin, Hawthorne Pierce, etc.
I would much prefer to see traffic calming development vs speed bumps. They are much more beautiful and consistent with the look and feel of our lovely small city.
