The class Musical Theatre is being considered to be taken off the courses sheet for next year 2024-2025. Us, the students of Vandegrift Theatre Company, want to take lead and action to preserve a class that is so near our hearts due to various reason, including providing an in-class opportunity for students to participate in theater in a flexible way for students who can’t outside of class, be introduced to such an inclusive environment, and provide a space for upper-classmen and their creative-expression through senior directing, as well as provide opportunities for under-classmen to navigate high school.
Please help us keep one of our favorite theatre classes alive!

Theater has been such a BIG part of my daughter’s life and it made her confident and she felt a sense of belonging. She learned to work hard, flow through and team work to feel accomplish great result to feel proud of
As a former VHS theater student and current high school theater director, its so important to give kids the opportunity to do theater at Vandegrift! Let me know what else I can do to help’
My child has thrived and found her tribe through musical theater. It is a wonderful opportunity for our children to deepen their theatrical studies and their bonds with each other.
i genuinely want to become an actor in life, and musical theatre technique is so so important for that. You're taking away a class that means more than the world to people. Bring back musical theatre!
Please keep this class! The senior directors for the 2024/25 school year already picked Alice in wonderland for the show, and have a ton of ideas and plans already in motion for the show!

I moved to LISD because of its commitment to fine arts, it needs to keep these programs! Over and over again in my professional career, people repeatedly say what they learned in their fine arts classes are the skills they use the most in their careers.
