Please sign this petition to support St. Laurence’s National School’s Sports Capital Fund application for an all weather pitch in Sallins.

The proposed pitch would run adjacent to the school grounds and would be available for use by the school and the community.

Currently, our students have no access to a field during break time for the majority of the school year. An all weather pitch would give the pupils space to run and play safely throughout the year.

The all weather pitch would be a fantastic resource for our 27 sports teams, which cover 8 sports including boys and girls Gaelic football, basketball, camogie, hurling, soccer, cross country running, hockey and rugby. This all weather pitch would mean our teams/pupils would have a facility to train on all year round, more than doubling our current access.

If this application is successful, the all weather pitch would be available for community use through our school community groups including scouts, guides, G.A.A and community games and through a licensing agreement with Sallins Celtic. Thirty hours per week would be offered to Sallins Celtic F.C, who have had no permanent training facilities in Sallins since their inception in 1998.

Please help support our application by signing this petition.

There is a need for Astro pitches in Sallins, at the moment Sallins Soccer club are travelling to Kilcullen to access their facilities. Traffic is bad enough in Sallins Village at the moment without adding to it for unnesessary trips.

Our village has expanded rapidly over the last 15 years we have so many children who love sport and an all weather pitch attached to our National School would be a wonderful facility, in a village lacking facilities for our children

Sallins National School need this pitch to be developed as soon as possible, it is not acceptable that the 750 kids have not proper outdoor pitch to play matches / train and develop their skills.

This facility would give our pupils access to training facilities all year round. In these days of widespread childhood obesity this all weather facility would afford all of our pupils opportunities for increased physical activity.

This pitch is so badly needed in sallins. After these last few rain soaked weeks, all of our sports teams - soccer, gaa etc are competing to hire astro turf pitches in Naas and beyond. The pitch would be a great addition to the school also, ensuring that all the kids get outside play on a regular basis!
