In May 2011 Aberdeen University Students' Association passed policy to become zero tolerance to sexual harassment.
The policy states: "We believe that the following behaviours are unacceptable
• Unwelcome sexual invitations/innuendoes/offensive gestures;
• Unwelcome or unwanted touching of your body;
• Having your clothes lifted without consent.
We believe that pubs and clubs in the city of Aberdeen should adopt a zero tolerance to sexual harassment stance, train staff in supporting victims and dealing with perpetrators and to actively promote their commitment to zero tolerance.

The feedback we are getting from students shows just how pervasive this issue remains in our nightlife. I have been spending my nights meeting with local venue owners to push the policy forward but the progress is slow and the resistance is frustrating. We are not backing down until these spaces are actually safe for everyone.

staff need better training for sure. seen way too much crap happen and bouncers just stand there looking at their phones.
About time! I have had enough of being grabbed in night clubs. Aberdeen needs to step up and make these places safe for women.

THIS. keepin us safe should be the bare minimum. so many girls i know wont even go out anymore because of this.
