WHEREAS, the Lake County School District is meeting on Monday, June 25, 2012, to discuss the implementation of a resolution questioning the validity of high stakes testing (see National Resolution http://timeoutfromtesting.org/nationalresolution/) WHEREAS, numerous school districts within the great State of Florida have adopted this resolution, including, but not limited to, Pinellas, Palm Beach and St Lucie Counties. WHEREAS, we are responsible for the well-being of the children of Lake County and must be their voice and THIS RESOLUTION is in the best interest of Lake County Public School students’ education. WHEREAS, by signing this petition as a registered voter, within the District of Lake County, I agree that the school board should immediately, unanimously, and without hesitation, adopt a proposed resolution similar to the one above, reevaluating the high stake implementation in which tests such as Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) and End of Course Exams (EOC) are used.
