The legislative body has finally passed a permanent revision to the Medicare physician payment system. This shift ensures the financial stability required to maintain high standards of patient care. I appreciate the dedication shown by everyone who supported this initiative.

Permanent Medicare Payment Fix

As a radiologist practicing in your state, I want to stress the importance of permanently fixing the flawed Medicare physician payment system and replacing it with a fair, stable funding formula. Years of last minute fixes are unsustainable and wreak havoc on medical practices trying to make future business plans without the knowledge of a sizable portion of its future income.

Radiologists have been on the receiving end of several rounds of significant payment cuts over the last 5 years, with further cuts having been included in the recently enacted Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Additional cuts, such as the 21% Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR)cut currently looming in Congress, will jeopardize my ability to provide the optimal level of care to my patients, and force me to make practice decisions that could result in limiting the number of Medicare patients I can serve, or stop taking Medicare patients altogether.

Again, please work together to fix the current flawed Medicare physician payment system.

So tired of the constant uncertainty. Just pay them what they are owed so we can get back to normal.

My doctor is already talking about retiring early because of this nonsense. These games with payments are gonna hurt the people who actually need care.

Enough is enough. Keep the payments stable so doctors stay open. Simple as that.

Fix this now. Seniors cant afford to have their doctors stop taking insurance because the gov cant get it together.

SERIOUSLY stop messing with people's healthcare just to cut a few corners. It's not a game!
