Advocate Cooper Kael McShane as Official Bisexual Representative for Liverpool Pride
I am applying to be the official Liverpool Pride bisexual representative, since personally I feel bisexuals are an under-represented and misrepresented within the LGBT+ community. I believe that my objective perspective and my understanding of the importance for bisexual representation within Pride and the LGBT+ community, makes me a vital and legitimate candidate for this position.
As a bisexual representative, I would aim to apply unity through individuality, rather than unity by division. I believe this is crucial for the positive evolution of LGBT+ relations and the education of LGBT+ rights and principality, to those who consider themselves outsiders with regards to the community. I would seek to give everyone a voice and an ear, with concerted dedication to having people seen, heard and listened to without representing only the statistical presence of their sexuality or gender. I would encourage and support all individuals to be just that; individuals, who would do better to stand together rather than apart, despite any deemed differences from one to the next.
As a part of this application of bisexual representation, I will also be applying to become a member of the Liverpool Pride community board, which will enable me to discuss and present progressive and productive ideas to Liverpool Pride's overall actions and agendas. This petition will also count as your support in me for this, as well.
Do not consider me for these roles simply because we have met and we may be on friendly terms. Only apply your support via this petition if you truly believe that I would be a positive representative of bisexuals, and a productive influence within the ideas, evolution and positive progression of Liverpool Pride and the LGBT+ community in general.
I am also a massive advocate of "freedom of speech" and see this as a positive means to communicate and understand one another despite deemed differences. In addition, I aim to utilize "artivism" (art-activism) to help all people express their unique identities and experiences through the medium of art, via the provision of ongoing workshops, and exhibitions, that may be enjoyed by all interested, as artist or spectator. I see art as a form of communicative and educational expression that is in many ways essential as a means for all people to empower their identity, understand the identity of others, and find common ground.
In your decision to support me, think of the kind of person you know me to be, my understanding of general, personal and LGBT+ issues, and the contributions to society and the LGBT+ community of mine that you are aware of.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
