Allow Scooters at Falls Township Community Park’s Skatepark
Falls Township Community Park’s Skatepark has a rule stating that no bikes, scooters or rollerblades are allowed in the skatepark. Therefore, my 10 year old son and many others cannot access this space, simply because of what they ride. Scootering has grown into a huge sport, with millions of participants worldwide, and none of them can ride this park. This impacts hundreds forcing these kids to ride in the streets putting them in danger of being struck by a motor vehicle. Scooters are a "wheeled recreational device" just like skateboards which can be used in skateparks. Scooters are equally maneuverable/safe/dangerous as skateboards and should be allowed in the skatepark.
My 10 year old son RJ is petitioning the Falls Township Board of Supervisors to either
A) Hear his request to simply change the rule and allow scooters to be used in the Falls Township Community Park’s Skatepark
OR
B) Form a designated scooter park within the Falls Township Community Park where scooters can be used
If you agree and would like to see scooters allowed at the Falls Township Community Park’s Skatepark or a designated scooter park formed, please sign this petition. Be sure to include your name, address and signature.
Thank you for your support,
Stacy R. (parent of RJ B.)
