Re-Open THE ALVIN PETRUS PARK
Dear Supervisor Jon Kaiman, We know you admire Port Washington, NY and that is why we are appealing to you again to stop and think about Re-opening THE ALVIN PETRUS PARK for all the children in Port Washington, NY In February 2011 , 250 representatives of the Port Washington Community including leaders of the League of Women Voters, The Community Chest, The Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington, The Port Washington Parks Conservancy, Harbor Hills Residents Association and other Civic Associations appealed to you and the Town Board to open the ALVAN PETRUS PARK. And yet, the ALVAN PETRUS PARK STILL REMAINS CLOSED Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio, State Senator Jack Martins, Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel and Legislator Wayne Wink have all pledged their support to help you open the park. We all believe that private and state funds as well as the Environmental Legacy Fund are available to re-open this park. WE THEREFORE, STRONGLY REQUEST YOU LEAD THE TOWN BOARD TO RE-OPEN THE ALVAN PETRUS PARK THIS SUMMER!
