I would like to report the cruelty inflicted on a cat and a small dog. I first heard about it late last year,i went to look at the place at the time, on the pretence of walking my dog, however the doors were shut, so i could hear a cat wailing, and a dog barking. I happened to mention it again this year, and was told that they were still there. So 4 of us went down to have a look and the door was open and i saw the dog chained to the oil drum, and then movement in the gloom further back, i went in and there was a cat chained to the wall. The chain was clipped to an iron ring cemented in the wall.The chain was attached to an old leather dog collar around the cats neck, which was very tight. I unclipped the chain and picked the cat up and it crawled into my coat. The dog was quiet by now, and my friend witnessed the cat chained to the wall, however i didnt notice by then that my friends had gone back to the car, and i wa alone in the garage/barn, when the owners appeared in the doorway, 2 very cross people, the man was very mean looking and the woman was very big and scary,i asked to buy the cat, NO, i asked if i could have the cat No, the woman went indoors so i walked out side with the cat still in my coat, thinking they would let me go, i got on to the street, and the man snatched the cat out of my coat, and now the animals are locked in 24/7. I alerted the Gendarme,s The Maire, The SPA, The Vets, they were inspected by the Gendarme, and the SPA, and they said its not againts the law, and the animals are still there.24/7 locked in forever with no human contact, apart from the scraps they must get from the owners. Why keep a cat and a dog locked up when they obviousle dont want them or care for them and inflict un-necssary suffering. Its not morally right, no domestic pet should be kept as a prisoner. What crime did they commit to get a Life Sentence. Anyone with an ounze of compassion would have done what i did that day. Its Barbaric and Cruel.
