PLEASE ONLY SIGN THIS PETITION IF YOU ARE A LENNARD STUDENT INTERESTED IN THIS COURSE! At Lennard High School, people strive for the highest possible academic achievement. However, not much emphasis is put into electives, especially the music department. There are several students at Lennard High School where music is there passion and the Lennard Music Department is their home, and they wish to pursue higher education in music as opposed to science or mathematics. When one signs up for AP courses, they expect to take a class that they would need for their future college degree. That is what this petition is about; giving the music department at Lennard the opportunity to allow for higher music education. By allowing students to take AP Music Theory, not only will their GPAs increase as well as being challenged at a college level, but people will be learning what they love. Through AP Music Theory, one can practice and develop musical skills that will help one build understanding of music composition and music theory, as well as develop music vocabulary through class discussion and written analysis of listening selections. Allowing this class into our school would be major for all aspiring musicians and musical theatre students wishing to change the world through music.
