Beach nourishment is a process that is used to widen and fix beaches that are effected by big storms. The funding of beach nourishment has been and always will be expensive, which is why i created this petition to give you my opinion on other alternatives. Alot of animal habbitats get destroyed in the process of dredging and flattening the sand so why not try and avoid that? Alot of the poor, middle and high class tax payer dollars are spent only for the benefit of the wealthy large property owners so why not try to avoid that too? The proven alternative to beach nourishment has been found and are called undercurrent stabilizers, undercurrent stabilizers arent as expensive and are used to slow down waves so there is hardly any erosion. So instead of having to spend millions and millions of dollars on a problem thats never ceased, why not spend an estimated half of the money on an alternative that is non invasive and not a danger for the animal enviornments? The details on beach nourishment go beyond the space provided so i can not get into it, but it takes common sense to understand what option is better for our community and our beaches so if you agree with me please sign this petition.
